Teaching productive skills: Writing

This short course is aimed at teachers who would like to focus on getting students to develop their writing skills.  Teachers will explore product versus process approaches to writing. It has been designed to provide support to teachers who are entering students for a Trinity ISE Examination.

Teaching Speaking: Fluency and confidence

This short course is aimed at teachers who want to improve their knowledge and practice in building learner fluency and confidence while teaching speaking.  It has been designed to provide support to teachers who are entering students for a Trinity GESE or ISE Examination.

Teaching receptive skills: Reading

This short course is aimed at raising awareness of approaches and strategies for a successful reading skills lesson. It has been designed to provide support to teachers who are entering students for a Trinity ISE Examination.

Teaching Speaking: Fluency and Accuracy

This short course is aimed at teachers who want to gain a deeper insight into how to strike a balance between fluency and accuracy.  Teachers will explore strategies for providing scaffolding and giving effective  feedback.  It has been designed to provide support to teachers who are entering students for a Trinity GESE or ISE Examination.

Assessment Strategies

This short course is aimed at teachers who would like to gain a deeper knowledge on the principles of testing and the positive impact that preparing for Trinity’s exams can have on both teachers and learners. It has been designed to provide support to teachers who are entering students for a Trinity GESE or ISE Examination.

Teaching Young Learners: Speaking and Listening

This short course is aimed at teachers who would like to look at strategies for helping young learners, aged 6 and over, learn English while preparing them for a Trinity College London Graded Examination in Spoken English (GESE).

Topic Preparation: participating in a spontaneous, informal discussion (CEFR A2-B1)

This short course is aimed at teachers preparing candidates for an A2 - B1 Trinity exam who would like to look at strategies for helping students choose and develop the content of their topic and look at ways of helping their students perform better in the Topic Phase by avoiding recitation.

Topic Preparation: taking control of the spontaneous, informal discussion (CEFR B2)

This short course is aimed at teachers preparing candidates for a B2 Trinity exam who would like to look at strategies for helping students choose and develop the content of their topic and look at ways of helping their students perform better in the Topic Phase by avoiding recitation.

Topic Preparation: giving a formal oral presentation (CEFR C1-C2)

This short course is aimed at teachers preparing candidates for a C1-C2 Trinity exam who would like to look at strategies for helping students choose and develop the content of their topic presentation.      We will be looking at ways of guiding students to structure and sequence their presentation and help them perform better in the Topic Phase by avoiding recitation.


Teaching Young Learners: developing basic conversation skills

This short course is aimed at teachers who would like to look at strategies for helping young learners, aged 6 and over, learn English while preparing them for a Trinity College London Graded Examination in Spoken English (GESE).

Teaching listening and notetaking skills at CEFR A2-B1

This short course is aimed at teachers who would like to gain a deeper understanding of how they can help learners develop effective note-taking strategies that can be used during listening tasks and beyond. It has been designed to provide support to teachers who are entering students for a Trinity ISE Foundation / ISE I Examination.

This short course is aimed at teachers who would like to gain a deeper understanding of how they can help learners develop effective note-taking strategies that can be used during listening tasks and beyond. It has been designed to provide support to teachers who are entering students for a Trinity ISE II / ISE III Examination.
